Members of the Gambia Press Union – USA are committed to upholding
the noble principles enshrined in the National Anthem of our Beloved
Homeland. We are committed to the promotion, protection, and
preservation of the rule of law, human rights, and human dignities in
The Gambia and everywhere in the world. We are committed to the
constant reaffirmation of the high principles of liberty and equality and
to the unrelenting exposure and condemnation of all forms of cruelty,
tyranny and injustice. We believe that all human beings are created
equal and that all human beings have the right to freely express their
legitimate opinions on matters affecting our common homeland, to
criticize and challenge the state, and to dare to think different and act
different from all other Gambians without fear of persecution or undue
condemnation. We believe that all Gambians have the right to pursue
and fulfill their legitimate aspirations within the public and the private
domains of our national lives, that all Gambians have the right to a
regular and peaceful change of political leadership, and to aspire to
such leadership without fear or favor, affection or ill will. To the pursuit
of these ideals we are eternally committed. So help us God.
